Kansas – Take action to change the tax on vapor products!

(Update – 02.15.17) In a dramatic shift, SB 130 is now the vehicle for changing the tax on vapor products. Amendments have been agreed upon that reduce the 20c/ml tax to 5c/ml.

It has been brought to our attention that some members of the Senate Committee on Assessment and Taxation are supportive of this bill. But, to be sure, please take a moment to reach out to committee members today and urge them to support SB 130.

Currently, the language of SB 54 does not reflect a substantial change in the tax rate (20c/ml). However, this bill is the vehicle for making the necessary amendment. Ultimately, the ask is to reduce the tax to 5c/ml of liquid containing nicotine.

Please take action now by sending a message to committee members and your state senator urging them to support this bill.
